Guinness –
Ireland´s signature drink and a must-see brewery when visiting Dublin. The
brewery and museum is one of the stops the hop-on hop-off tour bus so you
simply cannot miss it.
Guinness
Storehouse has seven floors, which I simply could not understand before I
visited the place. This is a building dedicated to Guinness and great food and
drinks in general. This is a place to visit when you want to learn about some
traditional Irish history (yes I am indeed referring to Guinness as history),
to see a great view of Dublin and to learn more about the art of brewing beer.
The ground
floor is where it all begins. This is where you´ll find a souvenir shop and the
history of Guinness. On the first floor you´ll learn more about the process of
brewing Guinness and learn more about how Guinness is transported worldwide.
Fun fact;
did you know that Guinness is shipped to over 150 countries?
The second
floor offers a tasting experience and this is of course one of the highlights
at the Storehouse. And after tasting Guinness you can move further up to the
third floor, which shows the world of advertising. Guinness has a lot of
imagination and it is great fun to see all the different types of advertising. Some
people has been very creative.
If you want
to learn how to pour the perfect pint of Guinness, then you have to make a stop
at the fourth floor as well. That is an art itself and you will be able to
impress people with your newly learned skills.
At this
point you´re probably getting hungry, which is good because there are a couple
of restaurants on the fifth floor. There is a dining hall, a bar &
brasserie and a bar so there is something for everyone.
The main event
of the Guinness Storehouse is the drink with a 360-degree view of Dublin at the
gravity bar. This is on the 7th floor, and even though you can enjoy
a pint of Guinness on the sixth floor as well, the view at the gravity bar
really is spectacular.
You can
easily spend a few hours here and it really is a must-see attraction when
visiting Dublin.
